My name is Michelle and I live with my family andour Miniature Schnauzers in Delbrück, a lovely town not too far from the towns Paderborn and Gütersloh in Germany. I have been a dog breeder since 1994 with the German Kennel Club - VDH and The Fédération Cynologique Internationale (F.C.I.)- The World Canine Organisation. My Kennel Name Romany Blues' is protected worldwide. Our dogs & puppies are not kept in kennels outside but live among us, their human family. I suppose you could say that I am a bit dogmad and I really find it quite hard to understand the kind of people who don't like dogs or even hate them! I do like to keep in contact with my puppy buyers, it's not just great for our dogs, but I am then always available when questions and queries occur. I am very much a 'hands on' person when it comes to my dogs and the breeding side of things. My dogs always have my full attention throughout the whole birth and of course in the lactating period. I use homeopathic remedies whenever possible, especially during pregnancy and at the actual birth ! Feeding my dogs as naturally as I possibly can has become very important to me. I am a strong believer in the B.A.R.F. diet -please read my page on naturel healing and feeding! |
Our dogs are part of the familiy!
Miniature Schnauzers are great family pets and love children -they can be a childs best friend! But families with young children must be aware, that they have to watch their kids when they are around puppy & teach them to be nice & respect him or her just like any other member of the family! |
Buying your 'new family member' from a non-registered breeder or a 'Puppy Farm' could result in paying out for a lot more than you had expected! The price paid for your puppy may be a lot less than if you had gone to a reputable breeder but have you thought how those places can 'produce' puppies so cheaply? Well, usually by mass production or in some cases they even buy whole litters off people who just want to get rid of unwanted puppies. The pedigrees of such puppies are then of course questionable. Those puppies are subjected to bad accomodation (outside in sheds, little light), cheap food (most likely not puppy food or of poor quality) and no or hardly any human contact - too many puppies/too many differant breeds to tend to. Many of those puppies are often ill when sold on to families. The VDH does not allow a puppy to be reared in the above mentioned conditions. Qualified kennel inspectors are sent to inspect all kennels on a regular basis to make sure standards are kept high. The selling of whole litters is not allowed! In Germany you will be expected to pay between 750,- and 900 Euros for a Miniature Schnauzer Puppy with VDH/FCI (UKKC recognised) pedigree papers . Of course this includes vaccinations (see my vacs page), regular worming and your puppy will also be micro-chipped! |
